Will Bruno (Abiquiú, NM) is known for his plein air interpretations of desert landscape combined with surreal figures and text. Bruno's characteristic pastel palette and experimental comic style find an easy home in the otherworldly New Mexican desert. Towering, bleached mesas and powder-hued sunbursts serve as the richly sublime backdrop for the artists' psychedelic, stream-of-consciousness narratives. Bruno poetically grapples with his physical and emotional reckoning in Abiquiú, delivering canvases that can be interpreted both as paintings as well as a road map to the cosmic desert.
